Good News

 Good News!

We all love to hear good news - a child doing well on a test, a friend getting a promotion, or a family member overcoming a serious illness. The greatest news of all, however, transcends all of these. This good news is that God loves you and has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you and to rise again so that, through Him, you can have eternal life.   The Gospel message is explained clearly in the Bible:

1.   All have sinned;

“...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

2. The penalty for sin is death;

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

3. Jesus died for us to pay the penalty for our sin;

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

4. When you confess your sin and ask God to forgive you and come into your life,    God takes away your sin and you become His child through faith.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith.It is of utmost importance that we remember that no one is saved and going to heaven because of works.

If you have not asked Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your life, will you do it now? If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact a pastor or the church office here at the First Church of God in Sapulpa.
